 Fall Colors!

Fall Colors!

Here in Ann Arbor, the air is crisp, the kids are back in school, there’s football at the Big House, and I’m loving all the fall colors. (P.S. I’m talking about nail lacquer; the leaves haven’t started changing yet. We’re not that far north.)

The chic-est colors of the season, in my opinion, are deep, dark or neutral: the plums, dark reds, greys, blues, and even greens. The last of these is typically a color I avoid, but Essie’s Exposed has converted me. This khaki green (think: Army jacket) shade was part of last spring’s Wild Nudes collection, but it’s still available and fast becoming my go-to for fall. I like it on short fingernails, complemented by toenails lacquered up in either a deep plum (my pick: Jin Soon Nail Polish in Fable) or goes-with-everything navy (my pick: Essie Polish in Style Cartel). (These three hues are shown above.)

MORE FALL FAVORITES:

CLASSIC RED: Morgan Taylor From Paris with Love (sexy, suits-all-skin-tones scarlet)

REBELLIOUS RED: Deborah Lippman Venus in Furs (a deep, smoky red)

GORGEOUS GREYS (I can't choose just one): Smith + Cult Stockholm Syndrome (a mushroom-y grey); Chanel le Vernis in Horizon Line (a greenish grey a tad lighter than Essie Exposed) or Washed Denim (a dusty blue-grey).
