The Second I Saw This, I Had To Have It

On a recent visit for brow-tinting at Sarah West’s The Brow Bar in Ann Arbor, my attention was hijacked by West’s expertly-curated collection of global beauty products (on sale at her studio—or online here). My fifteen-minute appointment turned into forty-five minutes (sorry, Sarah), as I peppered her with questions about the skin, hair, fragrance and makeup treasures she’d discovered while traveling in Spain, South Korea, Paris, Guatemala (and more). There were so many things I wanted to try, but one I couldn’t leave without: a Mote Marble Soap in Let Me Sea.

This marbleized eye candy/hand cleanser begins as solid block, then, as you lather, shrinks to a tennis ball, a golf ball, and finally a skipping-stone, all without losing its oceanic swirls (see above for an array of post-sudsing shapes). The scent I chose, Let Me Sea, smells fresh (bergamot, lemon, juniper berries, pine) and contains bamboo charcoal, which boasts both natural antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

For a mere $20, the Mote soap makes a chic hostess/thank you/housewarming gift. I’m picking up a few for my mother-in-law who’s allowed us to use her house as command central while our own house is undergoing construction.
