The Lip Balm Everyone Should Own
Winter whipped back into town this week and with it, insta-chapped lips the second you stepped outside. Regular readers know I love Fresh Tinted Lip Treatments (which I wrote about here), but when it’s 16 degrees out, I up the ante on lipcare with cult-classic Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm from Rosebud Perfume Co.
Sure, you could just slather on Aquaphor, but where’s the fun in that? Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm comes in a chic, retro tin and it’s a super-subtle pink (I put it on Heath sometimes so the read is ‘healthy,’ not ‘lip-glossed’). It also imparts a cooling sensation that feels sooooo good when your skin is sore—and it lasts (and lasts) without being sticky so you’re hair won’t get glued to your mouth on a blustery day.
I also use it as my winter nighttime lip treatment, slathering on an obscene amount and waking to smooth, plump lips. And, because of that minty sensation, it's also an effective mid-afternoon reviver: I dab a little under my nose and breathe in—or apply to my temples to quell an oncoming headache. Finally, it’s also $7 and takes at least six months of daily use to get through the whole tin. See? Everyone should own it.
