Wakeup Your Makeup

I’m finally emerging from the crazy rush-crush of the holidays, my little brother’s New Year’s Eve wedding, and a pile of freelance projects that proved to be more time (and brain) consuming than I’d anticipated. Caffeine is to be largely credited for helping me hold it together. But so is my new Urban Decay Quick Fix.

I’m not kidding. It works. Despite it's l-o-n-g official product name (Urban Decay Quick Fix: Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray with Niacinimade, Coconut Water and Sepitonic M3) this cool, coconutty (think '80s suntan oil), hydrating spritzer revives my skin, my makeup and me quite quickly.

It’s billed primarily as a makeup primer, and it does work pretty well as one, moisturizing dry skin and helping foundation and concealer go on smoothly and evenly. But I’ve been using it most often to recharge when I’m nodding off over my laptop at 3 p.m. One spritz to the face, and I'm back in the game.

Other benefits I’ve discovered: It's great at reviving and resetting waves; I’ve been spritzing it on “second-day” hair, then scrunching. It helps smooth out cakey makeup (especially around the eyes); lightly mist, then use a fingertip to tap over any creases. It masks post-workout ripeness (ew, but true). And finally, layering it under both your day and night creams will help parched, aging skin get an extra dose of daily moisture.
